Diamond Echo Mosaic - FULL version
This overlay mosaic pattern was inspired by art deco motifs. There are five coordinating patterns of varying heights included, including an ‘infinity’ version which can be made to the width and length of your choice.
I have also listed a ’MINI’ version of this pattern which includes the three smallest patterns only.
This is a fairly simple pattern suitable for someone who is intermediate at crochet, particularly if you have done some mosaic crochet previously.
The overlay mosaic crochet pattern includes written, step-by-step instructions for each design, charts with drop-down stitches marked with an X, a few illustrative photos and links to video tutorials that may help with the techniques involved (videos were not made by me but are my recommendations for crocheters who find these helpful).
I give some basic instructions for making a baby blanket, afghan or cushion cover, but the repeated mosaic patterns could also be used for a table runner or wall hanging, amongst many other possibilities. All the patterns repeat every 24 stitches across so can be scaled up and down in size easily. I’d love to see what you make!
I used DK weight (group 3) yarn in Scheepjes Merino Soft - Klimt, Vermeer, Turner and Giotto. For my baby blanket size (30x30”) project, I used 420m / 460 yards / 200g dark colors and 315m/ 350 yards / 150g light colors.
