Diamond Gem Bag
Diamond Gem Bag - PDF Crochet Pattern
This pattern is available for free on my blog - www.loopsandlovecrochet.com. Here you are paying to purchase an ad-free, printable, PDF version of this crochet pattern.
The Diamond Gem Bag is made from the bottom up using the tapestry crochet technique for the body of the bag to form the fun design. The bag strap is clipped on at the end, or as an alternative you can crochet your own bag strap.
This crochet bag/purse measures approximately 7” wide and 6.5” tall, not including strap. The pattern includes instructions on how to make your bag larger.
You’ll also find a video tutorial explaining the mosaic crochet technique and the graph for this pattern on my YouTube channel (links in the pattern or on my blog).
This crochet pattern is easy to follow and intermediate-beginner friendly, but still fun for more experienced crocheters. I hope you enjoy making this bag. It looks great in all different color combinations.
Materials:
• Worsted Weight Yarn (#4) – Any worsted weight yarn will work for this bag, however, cotton yarn is recommended. Approximately 150 yards are needed in total for this project. This works out to about 70 yards of the main color (turquoise), and 40 yards of each of the accent colors (white and rainbow).
• 4 mm crochet hook
• Yarn needle to weave in ends
• Zipper (optional) – 7” zipper, or a longer one to trim as needed (depending on your finished bag size).
• Optional purse strap materials (or you can crochet the strap and sew it onto the bag):
o Two “D rings” for attaching bag strap – 0.75” size was used for the bag pictured
o Purse strap with clips on the ends (optional - you can crochet a strap instead)
