Diamond Halo Hat
This stranded hat is knit in the round with corrugated ribbing for the brim followed by a bold diamond colorwork motif. This hat is a perfect gift knit for your friends and family. Choose between three sizes and stay warm during the chilly autumn and winter days.
Select two colors of DK weight wool like West Wool Tandem and pair them together with matching strands of Glowhair. I held a matching strand of lace weight mohair silk together with each color of wool to make the fabric extra soft with a subtle fluffy glow!
Finished Measurements
19 20, 22″ / 48 51, 56cm head circumference. Measurements taken after blocking. The length is customizable. I recommend selecting a size that is 2 – 3″ / 5 – 8cm smaller than your actual head circumference.
Size 2 is shown on a 22.5″ / 57cm head circumference.
Yarn
DK weight held together with lace weight mohair. You can knit this hat without the extra strand of mohair for a simple DK weight wool version.
Yardage
Color A - 110 120, 130yds / 101 110, 119m
Color B - 100 110, 120yds / 91 110, 119m
Color A = 1 strand DK weight wool held together with 1 strand lace weight mohair silk
Color B = 1 strand DK weight wool held together with 1 strand lace weight mohair silk
For example, for Size 1 you will need 110yds / 101m of DK weight wool AND 110yds / 101m of lace weight mohair silk for color A. You will also need the recommended yardage of color B for each of the DK weight and lace weight strands of yarn.
