The difference in size is achieved by different yarn weight and needle size.

The cardigan is designed in size S-M or L-XL and it’s suitable for a bust 85-105cm (33-41”) – size S-M. Size L-XL is suitable for a bust 100-120cm (39-47”).

The cardigan is worked from bottom upwards in separate pieces: 2 front parts, back part and 2 sleeves. Then the shoulder seams are sewn with shoulder seams. After that the sleeves are sewn to the body. Then the sleeves and the body parts are sewn together along the sides using mattress stitch. Sleeve cuffs and body bottoms are framed with 1x1 ribbing. The finishing band along the edges of the front parts is knitted simultaneously with them.

MATERIALS AND TOOLS:

Yarn for size S-M: Drops Nepal 50g/75m (82yds) 15 skeins (750g/1125m/443yds).
Note: you can choose another wool yarn brand. It could be any 10ply/ worsted/ aran weight yarn that allows you to obtain the correct gauge.

Yarn for size L-XL: Drops Air 50g/150m (164yds) 9 skeins (450g/1350m/1476yds) with Drops Baby Merino 50g/175m (191yds) 8 skeins (400g/1400m/1528yds).
Note: you can choose another wool yarn brand. It could be any chunky/ bulky weight yarn that allows you to obtain the correct gauge.

• A pair of 4.0mm (US 6, UK 8) straight or circular needles (size S-M).
A pair of 5mm (US 8, UK 6) straight or circular needles (size L-XXL)
• A pair of 5.0mm (US 8, UK 6) straight or circular needles (size S-M).
A pair of 7.0mm (US 10.5-11, UK 2) straight or circular needles (size L-XXL)

• Tapestry needle
• 3 stitch holder or about 100cm of waste yarn (25”)
• 3 buttons with 2.5-3cm (1”) diameter
• Some openable stitch markers
• Measuring tape
• Scissors

GAUGE (TENSION) for size S-M approximate:
26 sts x 40 rows (1 repeat of Diamond Lace stitch pattern) = 14 x 19cm (5 ½ x 7“) after washing and blocking.

GAUGE (TENSION) for size L-XL approximate:
26 sts x 40 rows (1 repeat of Diamond Lace stitch pattern) = 17 x 20cm (6 ½ x 7 ½ -8“) after washing and blocking.
