I loved designing and knitting this!

My LYS (where I work) is making a knitted home window scene, and I decided to make a lampshade cover. I found a wire-framed shade in my local charity shop, stripped off the fabric and glue, and got to work.

Within the dimensions of a panel there was enough space to incorporate a lace design, and I found the perfect one in The Knitting Encyclopedia by Melody Griffiths and Lesley Stanfield.

The pattern can be adapted to suit any size of lamp, just be sure you find one with a solid wire skeleton frame. For a longer or shorter panel, adapt the placing of the decreases accordingly. Similarly for a wider or narrower panel, inc or dec the number of sts on either side of the worked lace panel.

Happy Knitting!
