Worsted-weight mittens are one of my favorite things to knit. They’re so quick and satisfying, they’re perfect for gifting, and they take less than one skein of yarn. Plain mittens are a bit boring, though, so these feature an easy-to-work slip-stitch diamond pattern on the backs. A thumb gusset makes these fit well, and a nicely rounded top is classic.

Sizing:
Palm Circumference, unstretched: 7.75 (8.75)”
Total Length: 9 (9.75)”

Yarn: Malabrigo Worsted (100% merino wool, 218 yards/192 meters per 100 g skein), 1 skein for all sizes, or 70-80 grams of a worsted or aran weight yarn that knits to gauge.

Skills needed: Long tail and backwards loop cast ons, knitting in the round, basic increases and decreases, picking up stitches, knitting with double-pointed needles.
