Diamond Stitch Afghan 3 ways
The design is an easy one to do, I beginner knitter will be able to do this pattern. The only stitches other than Knit and Purl are K2tog (Knit 2 together) and Yarn Over (YO). It has a garter stitch border.
I have made the design in 3 sizes. A Baby Afghan 29 x 36, Medium Size 34 x 45 and Full Size 46 x 60. It’s like getting 3 afghans in one. Make the size that works for you.
The gauge of the pattern is not that important. An afghan can be a little bigger or smaller than noted size. All sizes of afghans are warm and inviting. If you want the afghan to be a little tighter weave use a size 8 needle which will make the overall size smaller. If you want something open and loose go up to an 11 and see how big and floppy it is. No extra supplies needed, just the circular needles to knit, tapestry needle to weave in tails and a pair of scissors to cut the yarn.
I used Carlton Loyal Aran from Feza yarn, it’s 100% acrylic and soft. Really has a great finished look. However, Red Heart, Bernat, Plymouth, Berroco and Lion Brands yarns will work just a good. So don’t feel you have to use the one I like. The yardage amount show a wide spans of yards, that is because of the 3 sizes you can make it in. If you change the needle size or all more pattern repeats, you will need additional yardage.
