This stylish hat has allover woven-look front post double crochet cables. A subtle flower silhouette on the crown morphs into a geometric diamond pattern on the body of the hat. This makes a good “second” cable project. It’s very quick, but has some intermediate-advanced crochet cabling technique.

This hat fits someone with a 13-14” head circumference. You can adjust the length and the brim type; do the pattern up to the end, then do a round of sc, or end in ribbing. My best guess is that this would fit a newborn or one-year-old, but try measuring the recipient’s head circumference to make sure. This stretches, too. Try making it with different weights of yarn to change the size.

The first 3 rounds should measure 3.25” in diameter.

I use U.S. terminology.

Each skein of Simply Soft makes several hats.

NOTE 10/26/15
As several people have noticed, this pattern is not tested! It is apparently not the easiest to follow. I ask that you cut me a little slack, because it was my first published pattern ever and I wrote it in middle school. I unfortunately won’t have time to clarify it anytime soon. For now, it seems like you can enter at your own risk. Apologies, and thanks for understanding!
