Diamond Windows Mitts
Columns of rib flow upwards from the ribbed cuff to frame the textured diamonds. The textured stitch repeat uses only knits and purls and is equally beautiful from both the right side and wrong side.
The pattern is suitable for magic loop or DPNs and suits a confident beginner or a more experienced knitter looking for a quick, easy project. The stitch pattern is written and charted. The pattern also contains a table to keep track of the pattern rounds and gusset increases as you work.
Pattern is written for adult medium (approx. 17.5-19 cm or 7-7.5 inches hand) and the mitts as written are a snug fit with negative ease. They can be resized by working at a different gauge.
Gauge: 15 st and 16 rounds to 5 cm (2 inches) in the round, in pattern, blocked. Difference in gauge will affect size of mitts and yarn usage.
Yarn: Approx 135 m (150 yards) dk weight yarn that knits to gauge. The stitch pattern will show up best in a solid colour yarn with good stitch definition.
Needles: 3.5mm (US 4) needles for ribbing and 3.75mm (US 5) needles for the hand or appropriate needles to get the desired gauge.
Notions:
Sewing up needle
Waste yarn
6 stitch markers
