Diamonds in the Skye Mosaic Placemat/runner
This is a 18 stitch repeat pattern and 75 rows. Overlay mosaic.
There is a chart and written pattern for both US and UK terminology.
I initially designed it as a placemat but it can very easily be made into a table runner or even a cushion cover.
I have written the pattern as a tutorial, with photos. If you can already crochet but have never tried mosaic crochet, then this is for you. However, those more experienced have also enjoyed this pattern.
There is a written pattern as well as a graph/chart. For newbies, its easier to follow the written pattern but once its clicked, most find the graph easier to follow.
I used a South African yarn called Moya DK. It is 100% cotton. 135m/50g. I used about 80 g of A and 70g of B for a placemat. I recommend slightly more yarn to allow for different tensions.
