Diatom is a triangular shape shawl, not too deep but with a decent wingspan. It is knit from the top down in two-colour brioche with some eyelets and a cute picot edge.

 Or any other sport or dk weight woolen spun yarn (light and lofty) that you like. I used Petite Polaire Salts as the MC and Ami Licorne as the CC.

Gauge

• Gauge in two-colour brioche, before blocking : 17 sts x 26 rows = 4” // 10 cm
• Gauge in two-colour brioche, after blocking and stretching : 12 sts x 26 rows = 4” // 10 cm Gauge before blocking is important for this shawl if you want to make sure you don’t run out of yarn. I only had 4g leftover of each skein. No need to swatch, you can just check gauge on your project as you’re knitting.

Diatom est un châle triangulaire pas trop profond avec une bonne ampleur latérale. Il est tricoté du haut vers le bas en brioche à deux couleurs avec quelques oeillets ainsi qu’une jolie bordure à picot.

 Ou n’importe quel autre fil de calibre sport ou dk, idéalement woolen spun (c’est-à-dire un fil léger, filé avec beaucoup d’air entre les fibres). J’ai utilisé la Urso Petite Polaire dans les coloris Salts comme CP et Ami Licorne comme CC.

Échantillon

• Échantillon en brioche à deux couleurs avant blocage : 17 m x 26 rangs = 4” // 10 cm
• Échantillon en brioche à deux couleurs après blocage, étiré: 12 m x 26 rangs = 4” // 10 cm L’échantillon avant blocage est important pour s’assurer de ne pas manquer de laine. Il ne me restait que 4 g de chaque écheveau de petite polaire après avoir terminé le châle. Pas besoin de faire un échantillon avant de débuter mais je recommande de surveiller la tension sur le projet en cours de route.
