This doll dickey adds the appearance of layers without adding bulk to a doll’s outfit. The dickey is a simple T-shape knit from the top down and fastened in the back with your choice of fastener. I butt the ends together and lace with a thread to avoid bulk. You can use a button and button loop or hook and eye, if you prefer. I knitted with a pale yellow thread that matched the stripes in the doll’s hoodie.

Skills needed: cast on, slip, knit, purl and bind off in knit stitch.

Gauge is important in this pattern. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.

16 yards of DMC #12 pearl cotton thread will make a doll dickey at gauge.
