Diffraction is the science behind how light splits as it passes through a small space and bounces off. The light splits into the spectrum and can create beautiful angular patterns. This simple unisex shawl has the same beautiful interplay of colour and angles radiating out and plays with a beautiful grey spectrum too.
Using two 150g skeins of fingering weight yarn it makes a huge but light cover up that is sure to get you noticed.

Size
Finished depth: 77cm/30in
Finished width 188cm/74in
Size can be easily adjusted by changing the number of repeats worked. Altering the size alters the amount of yarn required.

Materials
1 150g skeins Pook GB Gradient (4ply weight, 55% Superwash BFL 45% silk 150g/600m) in each of:
Storm (worked from outside in) Col A
Humingbird (worked from centre out) Col B

4mm hook (US G) hook
2 removable stitch markers

Note: Only 95g of Col A was used so it could be replaced with a smaller gradient of 100g/400m provided tension is matched.

Tension
16 sts and 12 rows in htr in BLO to 10cm/4in using 4mm hook (or size needed to obtain tension)

Centre out triangle, increased at each edge and around a central spine.
