This is a variation of the Old Shale pattern that delays the decrease by splitting it between 2 rows. There is a purl rib splitting the pattern which makes it very easy to memorize. Pattern repetition is 17 stitches and 4 rows.

Yarn and needle size is not important for this pattern.
