This is a very unusual knitting stitch, rarely seen, and more intricate than it looks. Twisted stitches and yo stitches combine here to make an astonishingly regular and symmetrical diagonal “weave”, with open spaces, much like lace. The more aggressively you block it, the more the stitch will appear to be lace.

There are two methods of twisting stitches contained within the pattern.

There are instructions contained within the pattern for a scarf that is 6 1/2 inches, as well as for 7 inches and 8 inches…making it your choice.

This scarf was knit with Malabrigos Rio yarn in Cereza, and requires between 600 and 800 yards

The stitches are both charted out and written out.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a very good working knowledge of twisting stitches).

There are also instructions for an optional crocheted border, should you want it edged. This is the ONLY crochet in the pattern -- the optional crocheted border.
