For the first pattern in my Dip-Dyed CAL, I am sharing the Dip-Dyed Clutch! A classic crocheted clutch worked in the back loops to create the fun ribbed pattern paired with a color block of cream and gray, and some handmade, crocheted buttons!

Materials:
- Maybe 200 Yards of Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn - I used
Lily Sugar n Cream in the Overcast (Dark Gray) and Ecru colorways

• H8/5mm Crochet Hook
• Tapestry Needle for Weaving in Ends & Sewing on Crocheted Buttons
• Optional, Jewelry Pliers
• 2 Size 4 (5/8”) Snap Buttons (Dritz)
• Thread & #22 Tapestry Needle

Material Notes:
I used yarn from my stash, and I did not measure any, but I am pretty sure I used less than half of one super size skein each color.

Jewelry pliers are an excellent tool to use to help weave in ends, as cotton yarn can be quite tough on the fingers when weaving in with just fingers and a tapestry needle.

I went with my go-to snap buttons closure for this purse, but you can always do a zipper, a loop and button, create handbag openings, leave it open and add a strap - it is completely up to you, but I love adding snap buttons.

The best option for thread is silamide thread. This is a durable, waxy 2-ply nylon thread. If you use this, you will only need to cut 2 strands, and double. If you use a regular sewing thread, like an all-purpose one, you will need to cut 3 strands, and double.

Time Spent:
I worked on my clutch on and off for 3 days days, for a total of about two hours, 15 minutes.
