Dip in the Lily Pond
A pretty hat pattern in an unusual stitch pattern. A versatile knit with a wide range of sizes from newborn to adult large, and three colourwork options letting you create beautiful and unique hats for every occasion. Perfect for using mini skeins or leftover odds and ends of sock yarn too! The pattern uses dipped stitches which look just like waterlilies, hence the name of this pattern.
Yarn: Lichen and Lace Sock Minis(80% Merino Wool, 20% Nylon) 67 m/73 yds per 20 g miniskein.
Colourway 1: MC Teal Tide, CC Pressed Flowers
Colourway 2: Orchid
Colourway 3: MC Clover, CC Pressed Flowers

Dimensions:
To fit newborn (baby, toddler, child, adult S, adult M, adult L)
Head circumference 35 (37.5, 40, 42.5, 50, 52.5, 55) cm/ 14 (15, 16, 17, 20, 21, 22)”
Needles: Four 3 mm/US 2½ dpns, four 3.25 mm/US 3 dpns. You could also use circular needles to work magic loop.
Gauge: 22 sts x 29 rows = 10 cm/4” in stocking stitch with 3.25 mm/US 3 needles.
Extras: Tapestry needle for weaving in loose ends, one stitch marker.
Techniques: knit in the round, knit and purl, knit decreases (k2tog), dipped stitches (these are a little fiddly but there’s a video tutorial linked).
