Dirt, now most people have pre-prejudices about dirt.they think only boys enjoy dirt. Boy would they be wrong. As dirt is the basis for plants and flowers I have found with you children it was also the basis for imagination. It was never just dirt, it was rock quarries, the surface of the moon, the ingredient for mud pies. It was what fuelled my children’s imaginations. One day we were in the garden and we were discussing dirt as I puttered with my rose bushes when Finn said Careful Mam ,”you cant kill a worm in his own house.”I should have known them tat Finn would be an environmentalist Even though he work for an oil company it to is to find the least harmful way to get crude to the environment. so on that basis I remember this lesson,that dirt is rather amazing just not when you when you are trying to get it out of your children’s clothes. But it’s a child’s view point of the world that is most amazing. So my darling when they bring you dirt and bugs, try and see through their eyes how amazing the world is.
