Inspired by the ripple effect of sand at the beach, a mesmerising natural pattern. Knit in a cosy soft yarn this beanie is the perfect blend of warmth and texture. Ideal for those winter coastal walks.

This beanie is named after my old boss, Di was wonderful, she was a fabulous role model, empathetic, committed…. she left our group of wonderful women in the bush for a sea change, now she enjoys her coastal walks in one of my beanies.

I’ve used Fiori Grande hand dyed, 114 grams (86 metres) 100% wool, which is just over one skein. Two skeins will get you an adult & child size beanie, the pattern has notes to show the amendments for the child size. The Fiori grande is a beautiful soft squishy single ply yarn that was an absolute delight to knit with. It’s available at boutique yarn stores in Australia.

The cream tweed beanie shown is just under one ball of Lion Brand Yarns, Wool Ease Thick & Quick. It made a more chunky beanie than the others, not as easy to knit with but shows up a lovely cable definition.
