Djamila is a girl’s name and means beauty. To celebrate the beauty of all of you Djamila can be worked in 3 different ways.
Djamila can be a round yoke sweater with or without a slit yoke or a cardigan. All variations are worked seamlessly from the top down.
First some short rows are worked back and forth to raise the back. Then the colorwork yoke is knitted in the round down to sleeve separation. For the slit yoke and the cardigan a steek is worked. When the yoke has reached the necessary length, sleeve stitches are put on hold and the body is worked in rounds down to the hem. Then the sleeves are knitted in rounds down to the cuffs. For the slit yoke and the cardigan the steek is finished with a crochet reinforcement, which is explained in the instructions.
The pattern includes different PDF-files for each variation.

Needles: Circular needle: Size US 4 (3,5mm) and US 3 (3,25mm) length: 16´´ (40cm) and 32´´ (80cm)
Hook (for the steek reinforcement): 1-2 sizes smaller than the main knitting needle
2-4 stitch markers
Waste yarn or spare needle for holding sleeve stitches
Tapestry needle to weave in yarn ends
thin leatherband or silkband for the slit yoke sweater
7 buttons (0.75´´ / 19mm) for the cardigan

Djamila ist ein Mädchenname und bedeutet die Schöne. Um die Schönheit jeder Frau zu unterstreichen, kann dieses Pattern in drei Arten gestrickt werden.
Djamila kann als kurzärmeliger Pulli mit oder ohne geschlitzter Passe oder als Jacke gestrickt werden. Alle Variationen werden nahtlos von oben nach unten gearbeitet.
Zunächst wird der Ausschnitt mit wenigen verkürzten Reihen geformt und anschließend die Passe mit dem Farbstrickmuster gestrickt. Für die geschlitzte Pullivariante und die Jacke wird ein Steek eingearbeitet, damit das Muster in Runden gestrickt werden kann. Die Ärmelmaschen werden stillgelegt, wenn die Passe die erforderliche Länge erreicht hat. Dann wird der untere Körper in Runden fertig gestellt. Anschließend werden die Ärmel in Runden gearbeitet. Für den Pulli mit der geschlitzten Passe und die Jacke wird anschließend der Steek ausgearbeitet, was in der Anleitung erklärt ist.
