DK Basic Baby Beanie
This baby beanie pattern is the sequel to my Basic Baby Beanie, but this time, knit in DK weight yarn! It’s about as simple as you can get - knit flat and then seamed using the mattress stitch, it is the perfect project for a beginner branching out from garter scarves; to make this, you only need to know how to knit and decrease. No purling necessary. You’ll also find removable pompom instructions in the pattern!
This pattern fits a large variety of sizes because of the stretchy nature of garter stitch. In the early months, it will fit with positive ease, and in the later months it will fit with negative ease.
If being used by an especially young one spending a fair amount of time on their back, you may want to ensure that the seam is rotated to the side or front of the hat so it doesn’t place pressure on any one spot.
