DK Riggin' Socks
The DK Riggin’ Socks are a reflection of the textures of rigging. The design is a tribute to the role and contribution that rigging plays throughout the world, recognizing the hardworking folk who are skilled in the art, trade and use! Enjoy knitting, and rig on!
Rigging is found in industrial, recreational, and artistic activities throughout the world, and on the West Coast of British Columbia, rigging is an integral component in the nautical, aeronautical, and mechanical industries. Watercraft, aircraft, ground transportation systems, construction, fishing, forestry, mining, search and rescue, safety equipment, skiing, mountain climbing, elevator systems, farming, and even stage theatre, have rigging! Rigging is comprised of various pieces of hardware components such as cable, rope, wire, chain, sling and tackles, eyebolts, turnbuckles, blades, clamps, braids, strands, cords, hooks, loadbinders and links! How intriguing that rigging plays a part in such a variety of environments, lifestyles and livelihoods on the West Coast. In rugged mountain terrains, salt and fresh water seascapes, and breath-taking landscapes.
