DNA Pullover
The DNA Pullover puts a helical spin on traditional Aran-sweater design. Inspired by Rosalind Franklin’s work to decipher the elusive structure, this stylized double helix refuses to twist as it should. The DNA cable is textured with seed stitch and twisted rib to give it a three-dimensional appearance. This design is a tribute to molecular biology, with the simple and plaited cables in the center symbolizing RNA and proteins. This pullover is worked from the bottom up and back and forth in pieces and then seamed.
