Do or Do Not Mittens
Yoda says: “Do, or do not – there is no try.” Well, with this pattern you can actually try the mitts version on first, and then decide if you Do want to add finger coverings to turn them into mittens, or if you Do Not.
These mitts/mittens are quick to crochet, and also have great stash busting potential – you can make the pieces in different colors and then swap with your BFF! All you need is about 140 yards per mitt, and another 60 yards per hand if you want to cover the fingers.
About the pattern:
The pattern level is on the easy end of intermediate; stitches used are simple, but the main piece is worked on the bias and there are several bits of seaming involved.
Materials:
1 skein of Madelinetosh Twist Light (100g = 420yds / 384m), or 400 yds of fingering weight yarn; or 280 yds of fingering weight yarn for the body and 120 yds for the finger covers
Other yarn suggestions: Koigu KPM/KPPPM, Malabrigo Sock, Black Bunny Fibers Luna, Forbidden Woolery Fortitude
The blue sample was made with Twist Light in ‘Pisces’, and the pink/purple sample is ‘Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Corned Beef’ for the body and ‘Garlic and Onions’ for the fingers.
