What’s this: These are the Dobby socks.

Why should I make these: If you’ve ever looked longingly at self-striping sock yarn – usually meant for knit socks - and wished for a pattern that would make these stripes work with crochet, you’ve come to the right place!

When will these get the most use: I dunno ‘bout you, but I wear socks A LOT!

Where do I start: This pattern is rated Intermediate - you’ll need to know or be eager to learn the basic crochet stitches, and working in the round. You will need 110g of self-striping fingering weight yarn (used here, Sock Star by Fibrelya) & a 3.5 mm hook. Other notions: a yarn needle, and some stitch markers.

Pourquoi je les aime tant? Parce que je me suis donné comme mission de créer un patron de bas au crochet qui nous permettrait à nous aussi de profiter des belles laines autorayantes prévues pour les tricoteuses.

Je commence où? Modèle Intermédiaire – vous devez être confortable avec les mailles de base (ou avoir envie d’apprendre le crochet) et le travail en tours. Vous aurez besoin de 110g de laine de autorayante de poids ‘fingering’ (ici, Sock Star par Fibrelya)) & d’un crochet 3.5 mm. Vous aurez aussi besoin d’une aiguille à laine et de marque-points.
