A cozy accessory for the season, the Dockery cowl.

First you knit flat in the garter stitch border, then work it in the round to the very top edge. It’s a quick and really fun knit.
A simple two row raised stitch pattern adorns the lower part and the decreases add yet another lovely detail, moving on to the top ribbed neckline with the knit stitches being done through the back loop for a bit more interest. If you knit it with the Tubular yarn as I did, you are going to love the wonderfully soft feel.
Bottom border 54” in circumference with a build in 3” side slit, the neckline circumference is 23”, total height is 9.5” unblocked.
Yarn used
Tubular, an aran weight tube yarn filled with squishy soft cotton.
60 yards/50 grams a skein, 3 skeins used.

Notions needed
US size 13 (9 mm) circular needle 20” (51 cm) in length.
One stitch marker.
Darning needle or crochet hook for finishing.
Gauge 5 sts and 8 rows in 2” of stockinette stitch.
Techniques applied
Knitting and purling flat and in the round, decreasing, knitting through back loop, stretchy bind off, weaving in ends.
