MC: 1 skein of Aeron by Plies & Hellhounds (85% SW BFL, 15% Donegal Neps, 438 yds / 400 m–100 g), colorway “Mirkwood”.
CC: 1 skein of Aeron by Plies & Hellhounds (85% SW BFL, 15% Donegal Neps, 438 yds / 400 m–100 g), colorway “Juniper”.
Note: The above combination is enough for 2 pairs of socks in most sizes, by reversing the MC and CC in the second pair of socks.
Suggested alternative yarn: “Huntington” from Valley Yarns (75% Merino Wool, 25% Nylon, 218 yds / 199m - 50 g) or Lana Grossa Meilenweit 100 Tweed (80% Wool, 20% Nylon, 459yds / 420m - 100g).
Or, if using alternate yarn, approximately:
MC: 155, 194, 249 ( 330, 395, 466 ) yds / 141, 178, 228 ( 301, 361, 426 ) m of fingering-weight yarn or any yarn with which you obtain gauge..

Needles: US 1 / 2.25 mm 9” / 23 cm circular needles (translatable to DPNs or Magic Loop Method) and US 1 / 2.25 mm 32” / 82 cm circular needles for toe decreases.
Notions: Stitch markers (3), snips, darning needle, sock blocking supplies.
GAUGE
38 sts x 50 rows to 4” / 10 cm on US 1 / 2.25 mm needles in stockinette st and 2x2 ribbing, after blocking.
CONSTRUCTION
Top down socks with heel flap, gusset and flat rounded toe. Includes stranded colorwork on the leg and before the transition to the toe. Includes 2x2 rib on the cuff and slip-stitch textured heel flap.
