A dodecahedron is a 3D shape made out of twelve 5-sided (pentagonal) faces. It is one of the five Platonic solids which have exceptional geometric properties: all the faces are identical in shape and all sides have the same length.
The top of this hat imitates the apex (point) of a dodecahedron before it moves gently into a normal circular tam hat shape.

Für diese Mütze ist mir keine schöne deutsche Übersetzung eingefallen, denn „Dodecahat“ ist ein Wortspiel mit den Worten „Dodekahedron“ (12-Eck) und „hat“ (englisch für Hut oder Mütze). Warum 12-Eck, wo es doch eine Mütze ist? Von oben sieht es genauso wie die Spitze eines 12-Ecks aus.
