PATTERN STORY
I originally saw this stitch pattern on a commercially made sweater at a cafe in Amsterdam and instantly fell in love. As I walked along the canals in the city center I could not get it out of my head. I knew I had to make it into something. One day I’ll make a sweater out of it, but for now, let’s get acquainted with the motif via this beautiful cowl.

SKILLS NEEDED
Cast on, bind-off, knit, purl and twisted stitches (tutorial in pattern)

West Wool - Tandem - Edem - 2 skeins, 295m / 320 yds

Worsted:
We are Knitters - Merifine - Ochre - 2x 50g balls, 205m / 225 yds
Malibrigo Rios - Cereza - 1x 100g skein, 192m / 210 yds
Bluesky Fibers - Woolstock Worsted - Grey Heather - 1x 150g skein, 210m / 230 yds

Yarn quantities do not include yarn to swatch.
This pattern uses almost exactly 100g of worsted weight yarn.

GAUGE & NEEDLES
DK:
Pattern motif is 10 stitches in 4mm / 1.5in & 23 rows over 6cm / 2.25in
The recommended needles are 4mm / US 6 with a 40cm / 16in circular cable

Worsted:
Pattern motif is 10 stitches in 5mm / 2in & 23 rows over 7.5cm / 3in
The recommended needles are 5mm / US 8 with a 40cm / 16in circular cable
