I designed these smart bandanas for my grand-dogs to wear to a special family event, at which they were much admired; I have been asked for the pattern several times since then.
The bandanas are adaptable to fit a Small/Medium or Large dog.
They are designed to be fastened using a button; however, if desired, Velcro could be used as an alternative - just omit the buttonhole. They could also be adapted to fit over a collar by knitting an extra 8 rows for the overlap at the top.
Any DK wool may be used, I used Stylecraft Special DK for mine.
The smaller sizes use approx 50g of main colour and 25g of tie colour; the larger size uses approx 100g of main colour and 50g of tie colour. The tie could be varied by forming it using stripes of wool oddments.
