Note: This pattern contains 3 patterns plus an alphabet and common word chart. On page 2 is the pattern to make the white hat exactly as pictured. This is a traditional pattern and even a beginner should be able to follow it (be sure to keep your floats loose, beginners!) as well as more experienced knitters.

Page 3 is a pattern allowing you to make the white hat with your own words, and requires calculating the number of stitches to cast on and making minor stitch adjustments on your own before following a standard set of decreases.

Finally, on page 4 there is a pattern recipe for creating the black hat. It is not a standard pattern, requiring you to calculate number of stitches to cast on, make minor stitch adjustments on your own before following a standard set of decreases, and duplicate stitch. Currently, there are links to both a video and a photo tutorial for duplicate stitch. Neither of these were made by me, but are very good.

Pages 5 and 6 hold the alphabet, common word, and blank charts.
