Doggy Placemat

The great thing about this Doggy Placemat is it’s completely machine washable because it uses T-shirt yarn. So not only is it quick to work up because the yarn is super chunky, but it can also be thrown in the washing machine for a good spruce when needed.
Note: On paper, the initial skeleton of this pattern may look a little intimidating, however, the techniques used are not that complicated. Its only the first row that will require very close concentration- from then on its smooth sailing!
Instructions Included:
-- Standard written instructions
-- (Very) High-level schematic of ‘skeleton’ row.
Here’s a quick summary of the pattern based on the original sample:
Dimensions: 70cm x 40cm (measured at the widest parts of the bone)
Yarn Requirements:
-- 430 yards of t-shirt yarn
-- The sample shown used almost two skeins of Wool and the Gang mixtape yarn in Atlantis Blue. (250 gram roll = 130 metres 142 yards, Super Chunky, 3.5 wpi)
Hooks:
-- 7mm
Gauge:
--Gauge for this pattern is not too important, however it is important that you crochet fairly tightly so that there aren’t any gaps for dog food to slip through. If you’re not a tight crocheter then consider going down a hook size or two.
Other Materials:
-- Tapestry needle to weave in ends
-- Scissors
