A simple doily with a granny square in center. Continuous crochet without sewing and it’s easy to make. You can easily re-size it to fit with your dish.
You can stiffen doily by spray starch, it can be wash and re-starch. Making it all the same color, alternate two colors, make each round different… it’s up to you!
