Get ready for the afternoon tea in the garden. This purse is a nice accessory for the beautiful you!
Crochet level:
- Easy/Intermediate.
You should know how to crochet following stitches:
ch (chain), sl st (slip stitch), sc (single crochet), BPsc (back post single crochet), hdc (half double crochet), dc (double crochet), tr (treble crochet).
This pattern includes:
- written instructions;
- step-by-step pictures;
- charts.
Instructions are given in English language, American terminology.
If you are not familiar with crochet charts, you can follow step-by-step-pictures and written instructions, given under each image.
Take a look at charts now and then and you might become a chart guru after all :)
Crochet hook:
- 1.8 mm.
Recommended materials:
Recommended materials:
- About 3 oz/85 g of natural (or other color) cotton thread size 10; shown here Aunt Lidia’s classic 10 crochet thread.
- DMC Pearl Cotton Thread size 5 (27 yds/25 m skein) in Lt Green, 224 Very Lt Shell Pink (1 skein each), 223 Lt Shell Pink (2 skeins) colors.
- About 22’’/56 cm of matching sari/brocade fabric for lining.
- About 22’’/56 cm of quilted fabric for lining.
- 6 ft/1.8 m of 3/16’’/4.5 mm cord for handles.
- Tapestry needle.
- Matching yarn color extra-wide double folded bias tape (will be visible).
- 20 mm 4 wooden round beads (e. g. Craftwood at Jo-Anne).
- Matching yarn color (and another one matching quilted lining color if different) sewing thread.
Purse size:
- doily/purse is about 20’’/51 cm in diameter (13.6 rounds = 4’’).
Notes:
- doily size would differ from one crocheter to another, so it’s better to make a doily first, measure it and buy fabric for lining after.
