Doll dress with lantern sleeves
This cute doll dress is crocheted by hook. The skirt is made using a pattern imitating pleating. The bodice of the dress is crocheted from the skirt up. The white sleeves and collar are crocheted into the bodice stitches. The bodice has a button fastening on the back side.
By the way, you can make 3 different outfits according to the pattern: a pleated skirt, sundress without sleeves and dress.
Materials
Yarn and hooks:
Terracotta dress:
- skirt and bodice: yarn Alise Cotton Gold (45% acrylic, 55% cotton), 100g/ 330m, terracotta
- collar and sleeves: YarnArt Etamin (100% acrylic), 30g/ 180m, white
- hook 2 mm for terracotta yarn and 1.5 mm for the white one
Red wine dress:
- skirt and bodice: mixed yarn (wool + acrylic), 50 g/ 175m, red wine color - collar and sleeves: YarnArt Etamin (100% acrylic), 30g/ 180m, white
- hook 2 mm for the red wine yarn and 1.5 mm for the white one
Tip: Avoid using yarn of the same thickness for the bodice and sleeves. I tried that: it looks ugly. The sleeve yarn should be thinner and softer than the bodice yarn.
Other materials:
- sewing thread of the bodice color
- stretch thread (optional, see the photo in the section “Bodice”)
- narrow color ribbon for the collar (optional)
- hooks and eyes or snap buttons for the fastening.
The dress is made for a 13” doll.
Don’t be upset if your doll has other sizes or your yarn differs from mine. My pattern describes how you can change the stitches to fit your doll and your yarn.
Measurements of the finished dress:
length - 12 cm (4.7 inch)
width along the waist - 8 cm (3.14 inch)
sleeve length - 3.5 cm (1.37 inch)
