Here is a kitty hat that will keep your doll warm during the colder months of the year, but also lets her make a fashion statement at the same time. The adorable cat face stitched to the front of the hat will surely attract attention and get your doll noticed.

This is a great project for a beginner knitter; however, you need to be familiar with the duplicate stitch. If you do not have any experience with this method, please look up a tutorial. You will also need basic sewing skills to sew the back seam of the hat together.

The kitty hat is meant to fit an 18-inch American Girl doll, as shown in the pictures. However, it will also fit similar dolls, such as Our Generation, My Life As, and others. I added a sizing chart to the pictures, to help you compare your dolls to the American Girl dolls

The pdf file includes the written instructions, as well as a chart to guide you through the pattern.

For this pattern I used a wider variety of colors, since I made multiple hats:

~ Mainstays 100% Acrylic yarn, 4-medium, in the colors Pink, Black, Gray, Green, White, Purple, and Red, as well as Red Heart Super Saver Solids in the colors Turquoise and Light Pink, but you can use any other 4-medium worsted weight yarn you choose.

~ Knitting needles size: US 8 - 5.00 mm
