Knit our Dress, Bonnet and Bootees to fit a 33-54 cms/13-21 inch doll. Also suitable for a premature/newborn/0-3 month old baby.
Design:
The Dress has a wavy edge and lacy pattern. It is knitted on straight needles in one piece up to the armholes. The sleeves are knitted separately and sewn in. Stitches are picked up to complete the neckline and for the opening at the back. The Bonnet has the same lacy design with i-cords finished with a leaf design. Also included are instructions for Bootees.
Sizes:
The pattern includes 3 sizes. To fit doll 13-15 (16-18, 19-21) inches or 33-38 (41-46, 48-53) cms. Or will fit a premature (newborn, 0-3 month old) baby.
Yarn:
The pattern uses double knitting wool (an alternative yarn for overseas knitters would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply).
The picture shows the outfit knitted using Rico Baby Classic DK in shades Orchid (52) and Turquoise (025).
Skill:
Intermediate. Written instructions in English provided.
Tension:
22 sts and 30 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 4 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension.
Needles:
Sizes 3.25 mm and 4.0 mm (USA 3 and 6) straight needles
1 pair of 3.25mm double pointed needles for bonnet i-cords
Other requirements:
3 (3, 4) buttons
Stitch holders
Stitch markers
