Dolly Beatrice
by Weldons
From the 26th series of Weldon’s Practical Knitter, published in 1894, it is described thus:
Here is a pretty doll dressed as a little girl; we will call her Dolly Beatrice. She wears a combination, a petticoat, and socks; a costume in the fashionable sac shape, and a toque for walking out, all of which are worked in knitting. The doll stands 14 inches high. Requires 2 oz. of pink and 3 oz. of white single Berlin wool, a little white Shetland, two knitting needles, no. 11, four no. 12, and four no. 17, a fine bone crochet needle, and half a yard of narrow Valenciennes lace for the neck and wrists.
