I love working with Bernat Blanket Yarn; it is super soft, warm and so cozy. I recommend buying the big balls (220 yd skeins) of the yarn, price-wise; Amazon has great prices….
I think this pattern is going to appeal to kids -- so you have the blanket, but then you can convert it to a cape; the side fins become gloves and you’re into creativity land, the hood doubles as a pillow filler….lots of uses that will definitely streamline appeal to boys…
