This hat is perfect for people who love the sea or who just love ocean animals like dolphins or turtles. Inspired by the ocean, this hat features jumping dolphins, swimming sea turtles, and crashing waves. Viewed from the top, the waves turn into a piece of coral. There is a brief section in the waves that uses three colors at one time, but the rest of the hat uses only two colors at once. Its probably not a good pattern to use two strands together because the floats would make it quite bulky. I don’t recommend this as a first color work pattern because of the long floats.

Yarn: Any DK yarn will work but I used Berocco Ultra Alpaca Light in 4 shades, dark blue, teal, dark grey, light grey, and white. If you like, you can use dark grey for both grey sections, just make sure there is enough contrast between your grey and the color you choose for the dolphin. Its no fun to work hard to make a pattern that doesn’t show up. My general rule for contrast is that I need more contrast than I think I do. Another fun option would be to replace light grey with white.
