Donegal Tweed Vest
Designed exclusively for SWTC by Diane Zangl
Donegal Castle in Ireland has on display some wonderful
tapestries dating back to the 16th century. The colors and
patterns in one of them was the inspiration for this vest.
The lower band, cap sleeves, and neck trim are worked in
a garter and rib pattern. Deep green and rich rose form a
net-like pattern for the body. Worked circular with steeks,
the body is cut upon completion and the faux front band is
added, joining the front opening. Pewter buttons on the
upper section of the band complete the historic look.
