Donkey crochet pattern

This measures about 15 cm tall and 14 cm in length, when made with double knit yarn or about 20 cm tall and 22 cm in length, when made with aran yarn. When I make this donkey I use the Graphite and Silver shades of Stylecraft yarn (but any dark and light colours would work well).

Materials

For the smaller size animal:
3.5 mm hook (US E hook)
Approx 20g dark double knit weight yarn
Approx 5g light double knit weight yarn
Approx 5g black double knit weight yarn
Stuffing

For the larger size animal:
5 mm hook (US H hook)
Approx 30g dark aran weight yarn
Approx 10g light aran weight yarn
Approx 10g black aran weight yarn
Stuffing

• chain
• slip stitch
• single crochet / double crochet
• decrease
• increase
• half double crochet / half treble crochet
• half double crochet increase / half treble crochet increase
• loop stitch
• working in the back loop
