Donwell Cable Scarf
‘A classic and understated keyhole scarf with subtle honeycomb and fine twisting cables’

The scarf has a classic keyhole shape and with a honeycomb central cable and 2 and 3-stitch border cables to create an elegant and considered design. One end threads through the other to fit neatly under coats and jackets.

The scarf is designed in The Fibre Co.’s Cumbria wool.

MATERIALS
One pair of 5mm knitting needles (single point)
One pair of 4mm knitting needles (single point)
1 100g ball of The Fibre Co. Cumbria wool (pictured in CU066 ‘Windermere’)
A cable needle or additional 4mm knitting needle
An additional 4 or 4.75mm knitting needle (for three needle join)
A tapestry needle (for sewing up)

TECHNIQUES
Casting on, knit and purl stitches, 1x1 rib, cable stitches, slipped stitches, picking up stitches and joining fabrics using a three needle join (photo-illustrated technique)
