DOOLIN Scarf
This beautiful scarf called “Doolin” is named after the lovely village on the West coast of Ireland. The simple stitch creates a lovely, rich textured surface which looks great in plain or variegated colours.The scarf can be knit in two widths and two lengths. It suits Men, Women and Teenagers.
Yarn : Chunky/ Bulky/ 12 ply yarn- weight 5
The yarn used in the sample is “Mistero” by Adriafil, Colour 060
Medium Length Scarf : 150 g / 5.25 oz./ 207metres- 3 skeins of yarn
Long Scarf : 200g / 7 oz. of yarn / 360 metres- 4 skeins of yarn
Needles : Size 6.5mm/ US Size 10.5 straight needles, or size needed to obtain gauge/tension
Gauge/ Tension : 18 stitches and 18 Rows = 4 x 4 in/ 10 x 10 cm
Stitches and abbreviations : Knit (K), Purl (P), Stitches (sts)
Method : KNIT FLAT on Straight Needles.
Skill Level : Easy / Beginners
Size/ Measurements : Two Sizes – choice of two widths and two lengths.
Width –7 (8) inches/ 17.5 (20 ) cm – Cast on larger number of stitches for wider scarf.
Length – 66 (88) in/ 168 (224) cm You can knit the scarf to any length you like; 150g / 5.25oz. will make the medium length scarf ; 200 g/ 7 oz. of yarn will make the longer length.
