The Doone shawl is knitted flat and mostly in stockinette stitches. There is one section though that shows off a simple big lace pattern in this rectangular shawl, which knits up incredibly fast, so you can wear it rather quickly. I do love wearing open and airy cover ups~ :yarn:

The pattern is fully written and also has a lace chart.
The blocked size measures 52” in overall length and 16” in height.

Yarn
A skein of Lightly, 238 yards in fingering and lace weights in seven color and texture changes, perfectly arranged and only two ends to weave in are available at
Yarnz2go
You can also knit it with leftover yarns if you have fingering and lace weights in 34 yard portions each.

The shawl pins and disks are available in the Accessories section at Yarnz2go.

Notions needed
US size 11 (8 mm) circular needle 36” (91 cm) in length.
Tapestry needle of crochet hook for finishing.

Gauge
8 sts and 21 rows in 4” of stockinette stitch, blocked.

Techniques applied
Knitting, purling, eyelets, knitting two stitches together and yarn overs, stretchy bind off, weaving in ends and blocking.
I blocked my shawl with a steam iron, which works quickly and well for my non wool yarn.

Enjoy your cool summer shawl and be sure to post pics on your project pages…
