Door stopper sandbag
This pattern came about because I was always worried about my little grandchildren’s fingers when they visited me. My terrace or hallway door threatens to slam shut in the summer when there is a draft - and what if one of my grandchildren had his fingers in the door frame? You can’t always keep an eye on everything. No, a solution was needed. I needed a doorstop!
Thought, done. My doorstop is colorful and cheerful to look at - with its height of almost 11.8in and its weight of 8.8lb it is big and heavy enough to reliably hold any door in the desired position. He is crocheted from only one ball of wool. Depending on the filling, you can use it indoors or outdoors.
In our house, everything is now “pull-through-proof”. Maybe this is also a useful and at the same time decorative idea for your home?
What skills are you going to need and what will you get
The 11-page crochet tutorial is also very suitable for crochet beginners. Everything is explained and shown exactly and step-by-step. We crochet single crochets, chain stitches and double crochets.
Materials:
• 1 ball = 150g (0.3lb) “Fano” line 359 from Online, Bulky (7 wpi), with me color no. 0049 and 08
• 15 g (0.5ounces) single color matching yarn
(e.g. “Bravo” or “Twister Sport”); for me “Twister Sport”, DK (11 wpi) , color 074 and “Bravo” color 8325 )
• Crochet hook size 4.5mm (UK 7; US: 7)
• darning needle, scissors
• For the filling: 1 cotton bag (shopping bag) and approx. 8.8lb of fine pebbles.
• Approx. 100 g synthetic cotton wool/craft absorbent cotton
