This bottom-up funnel cowl features three basic variations of stranded textural colorwork. It can be worn pulled up over the head or folded in on itself to double its thickness. It is named after the Doppler effect, which is best known as the change in pitch that is heard when the siren of an emergency vehicle passes you by. In astronomy, however, it is also used to determine whether a star is moving toward or away from the Earth. The spectral lines of an approaching light source exhibit a blueshift, whereas those of a receding light source exhibit a redshift. No matter how you decide to wear this cowl, you will look out of this world!
