When I was a little girl, my grandfather lived in a small Australian town called Cooranbong. His house was near Dora Creek which had a white painted pedestrian suspension bridge over it. I remember how excited I got whenever we went for a walk that included going over this bridge – and also rather scared as I was not totally convinced that I wouldn’t find myself in the water.

This cowl reflects the memory of those walks, with the rippling water beneath us, and the comfort of knowing you’re safe with a loved one by your side. The pattern is designed to be gentle, soothing, and even meditative - much like walking alongside water!

YARN

• 2 skeins Triskelion Yarns Emrys DK (DK / 8 ply, 100% Bluefaced Leicester, 230 meters / 100 grams, 251 yards / 100 grams).
• Amount of yarn used: 335-405 meters / 367-443 yards.
• Colourway used in sample: Endless Forms.

NEEDLES

• 4mm (US size 6) 80cm (32in) circular needle or size needed to obtain gauge

GAUGE

• 16 stitches and 30 rows to 10cm / 4in in main stitch pattern (measured across non-ruched section) with 4mm (US size ) needle and after blocking.
• Gauge is not crucial to this project, but varying gauges will affect yardage and final measurements.

Special Techniques:
Alternate Longtail Cast on (not mandatory!)

The pattern includes tips on resizing the cowl, in case you want to make a larger or smaller version.
