Instructions and yarn requirements for size Child Small are given outside the parentheses, and instructions
and yarn requirements for larger sizes are given inside the parentheses like this: Child Small (Child Medium, Child Large, Adult Small, Adult Medium, Adult Large).
You will need:
US Size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook
Approx. 130 (145, 155, 170, 180, 195) yds #2 Sport Weight Yarn
Scissors
Ruler (for measuring gauge)
Yarn Needle or Blunt Tapestry Needle
To Fit Head Circumference:
Child Small: 17” (43.2 cm)
Child Medium: 18” (45.7 cm)
Child Large: 19” (48.2 cm)
Adult Small: 21” (53.3 cm)
Adult Medium: 22” (55.9 cm)
Adult Large: 23” (58.4 cm)
This crochet fabric is very stretchy, so the hat is worked with negative ease. This means that the hat, when measured un-stretched, is a bit smaller than the actual head circumference, so it will stretch to comfortably stay on the head.
Finished Hat Circumference (Un-Stretched):
Child Small: 14 ½” (36.8 cm)
Child Medium: 15 ½” (39.4 cm)
Child Large: 16 ¾” (42.5 cm)
Adult Small: 18” (45.7 cm)
Adult Medium: 19 ¼” (48.9 cm)
Adult Large: 20 ½” (52 cm)
Gauge: 14 dc stitches = 3” (7.6 cm), 7 dc rows = 3” (7.6 cm)
5 sc stitches = 1” (2.54 cm), 5 BLO sc rows = 1” (2.54 cm)
