Dots and Dashes Loop
Get that beautiful striping sock yarn out of your shoes and wear it for the world to see! This versatile loop scarf can be worn doubled for warmth or as a single loop as a fashion piece.
This beginner level pattern pairs self-striping yarn with a coordinating solid. It begins with a provisional cast on, has lots of meditative round-and-round knitting with a few lace rows thrown in for spice and visual interest. Then for the grand finale, grafting the ends together! That’s so much fun – it’s almost like magic.
I knit two samples for this pattern. The first was created with indie-dyed yarns. For a more budget friendly option, I used KnitPicks Felici self-striping yarn for the second version. I love them both and hope you will too!
Materials Needed:
Yarn:
100 grams each of self-striping (color 1) and solid or semisolid (color 2) fingering weight yarn
Needles:
Two 4 US (3.5 mm) 24” (61 cm) circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge
Notions:
Waste yarn (smooth yarn works best)
Crochet hook about the same size as your needle
Stitch marker
Tapestry needle
